Recruit Spotlight
“I got into reenactment out of sheer curiosity about 2 years ago. Only to discover the exciting world of living history, live steel combat & historical crafting with an extraordinary group of people.”
“I got in to reenactment or living history around 6 years ago. Starting off in WW2 but it lacked the family, camaraderie that I have found here in Vinland.”
"I found Viking re-enactment through my love for spinning fiber. I wanted to satisfy my curiosity of how the Norse/Vikings created their sails, belts, cloth and what they used. Slowly I became curious about the food, the way of life, the beliefs and the mythology."
"I first joined the living history community after a very difficult time in my life and it has allowed me rediscover the passion I have for history and culture. I enjoy learning about all the skills and talents that the Norse people were able to achieve and I am honored that I can continue their legacy. Being apart of Vinland has allowed me to reconnect to a childish wonder I lost many years ago and forge a bond with a group of people who I now consider my family. Oath and Honor. Before life.."
" I've been a Norse pagan since I was 13 yrs old and never really fit in growing up. Spouting Saga stories while collecting random books, misc items and weapons my whole life. By the time I was stationed in Texas I had all but accepted that I was alone in my fascination. Then one day, as if by fate, I was dragged to Kerrville Ren Fair by a friend and found Vinland Texas Vikings. It was an immediate fit for me. I never thought I'd find a group of like minded individuals who loved the history as much as I did and reveled in the fight. Since then the Living History Community has reinvigorated the love I've always had for Viking Age history."
